I went kind of cold turkey, cut the carbs, cut most everything, ate one meal about 10 am, the first few days the hunger pangs yah it sucked but after that, just don't dwell on it, Id drink a good stout coffee to help curb hunger pangs, and not sure if this is even good for you or not but id get hunger pangs once in a while or start thinking about eating, Id mix some spices, like cajun spices, nothing too hot, something like you'd sprinkle on a steak or something before grilling it, add something a bit sweeter to it for a little sugar hit, and put it on my hand and lick it off, get a little bit of a flavor shot and a little sugar kick, made the thoughts of food go away for a bit without eating a butt ton of calories.

I honestly don't know a lot about MSG. Though my mother I think has a bottle labeled MSG in her spice cabinet. I feel like it's for a certain cookie recipe. 🤔
MSG is a flavor booster. Like cilantro, there is a small subset of the population that is sensitive to it. It's used a lot in oriental cooking and Chick-fil-A.

I don't like migraines, so I avoid it.

I'm on keto rn, I get really bad stabbing pains in my stomach if I haven't eaten so I had to do a big eating type thing.
 
fried is good, fry them in something better like a good olive oil or I use either roasted walnut oil or preferrably macadamia nut oil, its got a buttery flavor to begin with. If you must, sautee them with onions if you like them spices and you can add a tiny bit of water at first to get them started then sautee it away till they are thick with their own sauces with them and the onion, veggies of choice.

You very much CAN eat shrooms w/o going overboard and ruining their benefit

Wow, I could never do that. I get awful headaches if I don't eat.
 
Roasted mushrooms with a touch of butter is good. We do a veggie bake with onions, broccoli, garlic and what have you. Potatoes are good if you want the carbs. Bake in an oven until done. We started this on BBQ and would eat it with steaks.

Toss with olive oil if not butter.
