No, but they are as tasty as a well seared med-rare steak.Ground beef is not usually the grade you want to cook less than medium well. The surface area allows too much bacteria to infiltrate the meat. Most places aren't going to police their grinding, burger patties are not the same as tartare.
I butcher my own beef. So I know what went into it. I'll also eat a med-rare burger from a few restaurants. I won't eat a gray burger though. So if I don't trust the source- I won't eat any burgers.
