nothing worse than being stuck behind a couple of cyclists taking up half the lane doing 18 mph. i wish they’d all get off the roads.
I suppose we have a better infrastructure thats cycle friendly. Cars are not the city’s best friends with their pollution and taking up much space.

Rural environments are different. People are more in need of a car to go around and do their shoppings living in the country. And there are special lanes for cyclists through the whole country.

Scholars and students who live rural usually bike to school and university. And distances like 20 km are no problem with an e-bike anymore.

We are / were all cyclists (if not handicapped). Some only as a child/teenager, but most of us their whole lives. So we tend to be patient when necessary.

nope. when the roads are covered in snow i generally stay home and then charter a flight to warmer climates as soon as i can drive to the airfield
Our climate is milder. Most winters we only have one week with snow or ice. The municipalities usually clear the main roads , bus lanes and cycle paths within one morning. The state takes care of the highways asap.

So (in the past) once or twice a year almost everybody is late for work. 🥶 And hospitals are busy with broken bones and head injuries. But nowadays many people can work from home too.

For me fresh snow or ice means I can choose to work from home or I have to walk about 150 meters to a cycle path to start with. After that the road should be doable. I can’t take a shortcut. So where I normally need 10 minutes to cycle to work, I probably need 15 - 20 minutes with snow. But during that time I can enjoy a white and more silent landscape.

sounds like you do. i lived in NYC for a long time and found cyclists just as irritating there as i do now that i live in a more rural suburb.

i can’t argue that bikes aren’t better from a health or pollution standpoint, though. they definitely are, so i can see the appeal.

like you said, we just don’t have the infrastructure so people on bikes end up being in the way more than anything.

our winters are pretty rough, but they do a really good job of snow removal. like you said, it’s uncommon to be stuck inside for much more than the morning after a snowstorm.

if it was up to me, i’d never see another snowflake for as long as i live. but my wife loves connecticut, so here we are.
Eat the rich.
don’t eat us, join us. i promise it’s much better than the alternative.

some of the cars

the chevelle and porsche turbo were sold this year. the bronco is at our beach house, and the red vette is at our place down in florida.

the urus is my daily, and the white vette was a christmas gift for my wife. she wanted a fun toy.
I'm digging the Ferrari.

I've never worked for a person in my income bracket. Usually, they are in a much higher bracket and/or wealthy.
Why would you destroy that which provides you income?

Like the tick that protests and wants to kill the dog because the dog is always moving. If the tick gets it's wish, and the dog dies; the tick is fracked...
