Oh Shellie- that avatar! Looks like you dunked a Sebbie in chocolate milk-- DE- LISH!not true, you just collect the eggs and dont incubate them. Since geese only lay in spring and on average every other day its not a hard task to keep up with.
x3 And glad you all brought up heads. I was just wondering about this. Could some one post a few more pics or be pointed in what to look for in a Pom head? I have a hard time without the visuals.megan805, impressive for getting at a feed store. Like MrsMagoo1 said; you hit the jackpot. Beautiful geese.
The standard calls for their head to be fairly broad and somewhat flat, which I am seeing in yours. One question...they do have blue eyes? I can't tell from the pictures.Oh Shellie- that avatar! Looks like you dunked a Sebbie in chocolate milk-- DE- LISH!

Thank you for the pic and the notes. Yes, mine have blue eyes and single lobes but the feet are more orange and their bills only have the touch of rose. I haven't weighed anyone yet. One thing I noticed that I wanted to ask about is in your pic from OH Natls. One goose in front has a lot of white at the edge of the beak before the buff markings, the next has a smaller band and the one behind it has what appears to be none. Is there any mention of what is preferred? Thank you.The standard calls for their head to be fairly broad and somewhat flat, which I am seeing in yours. One question...they do have blue eyes? As to pictures....good luck. The only close up photos I know of are on the International Waterfowl Breeders website in their photo gallery. I have a photo of last years lineup from the Ohio National thanks to a friend from Facebook...not a great picture, but the best I've seen of them at a show.
A tiny bit of white is allowed (minor point deduction when showing), however gardengoats is correct: The buff should be solid and cover their entire head and top portion on their neck.Thank you for the pic and the notes.
