Poop board convert *warning-graphic/gross poop pictures*

okay one more question. does it do anything to the poop that would hurt it when putting it into a compost ben?

Barn lime is used sometimes as an alkaline additive to acidic soil, so as long as you aren't using a lot it shouldn't matter, especially if your compost pile contains acidic stuff. I haven't seen a problem.

Thank you to everyone that has shared advice on this thread! I am really new to chickens (only 6wks worth of knowledge

) so I got a lot of information and ideas out of this thread. We just moved our 3 girls in last weekend and will def. be adding a poop board with a sand:pDZ mixture!

So...happy to have this thread while "under construction". Call me crazy but it was exciting reading pop. Less cleaning equals more time to enjoy our birds. Thanks to each of you for your thoughts and even your photos. I'll post a few photos post construction prepoop.

I LOVE your coop! I've looked at it on the Little Cottage Co website and I see that the chicken door is on the front next to the human door...that's not ideal for me and I noticed that your chicken door must be on the side. Was changing the placement of the chicken door something you did yourself or an option they have?
Thank you!
