I'm not blaming you, I'm just wondering why you didn't try to call the police if you knew they were one of the only options for ending her suffering, and if she's got two broken front legs shes not exactly going to leap off into the sunset. If you've got snow on the ground where you are, it would be easy to track her with her drag marks and whatnot.

I have never heard of any law that prevents the humane distruction of a fataly wounded animal. You are not trying to keep it and nurse it. You are putting it out of a miserable and cruel death!
