kay lol dont blame me here. That's exactly what im saying is a cop or game commisison would have to be called. The doe isnt in sight anymore. Have you ever seen how fast a deer can go when it's injured? Fight or flight responce. Please dont blame me for something i have no control over. I do agree the right thing to do is put her down. I feel horrible for her but I live at home with my parents (rent from them) on her property what she says goes. sorry.
I'm not blaming you, I'm just wondering why you didn't try to call the police if you knew they were one of the only options for ending her suffering, and if she's got two broken front legs shes not exactly going to leap off into the sunset. If you've got snow on the ground where you are, it would be easy to track her with her drag marks and whatnot.
I understand though and I'm not trying to hassle you, really
thanks good cuz it was making me feel even worse haha! Im glad you're not upset with me personally just the situation I am too
Both are deffinatly broken, i've seen deer with one front broken leg and they get around pretty fine and thrive...but she was down low to the snow one was broken worse than the other.
I explained above about why i cant call the state cops (we dont have town cops). When my hubby was a manager and there was small robbieries the state cops wouldnt evne come out so that's tellin ya something there lol. My hubby called the cops one time about someone locking a beagle pup in their car in 90 F weather.....after an hour he got fed p with it and broke the drivers window down and got the puppy out which died later..... the cops came out one chewing on a doughnut (no suprise there) and they were very upset about the puppy...but if they would have came sooner maybe they could have saved it...the girl who put teh pup in there got yelled at and that was it....she had a pit bull puppy just weeks later.
I have nothing against the state cops, but they will tell me they have more important things to do than track down a deer in the pitch black.
Believe me though when i say snow does not stop an injured deer from fleeing.
When i ran inside to tell my mom to come otu and see her..she took off like she was flying.....they can get around quite well when they feel their safety is comprimised....deers wth broken backs can even get away from hunters. I've hunted enough to know
If she was just laying up there thered be no question about what i could do.
