Poor Ebay delivery, sad.

Geez. That's just unacceptable. If it were me, I would have already opened a PayPal dispute complete with the pictures you posted here. It is the seller's responsibility to do everything they can to get you viable eggs and this guy didn't do any of that.

Yeah that's kind of what I thought too, that the seller would do everything they could to get the eggs up here safely. I didn't have any communication from him at all prior to discovering my frozen eggs in the mailbox

The seller basically said that it was as much my fault for ordering eggs when I live in Maine. This being my first time ordering eggs before, I guess I didn't know any better? I had thought that an egg seller selling year round would be aware of winter? As for picking up at the post office, apparently that was my fault too:

" I can't be responsible for special instructions like holding at post office or adult signature required. When people want that they usually leave instructions with payment."

Again, I didn't know that I had to be specific, I'd just assumed it would be commonsense to demand post office pick up. But, live and learn I suppose. The seller did agree, without any argument, to refund the cost of the eggs (not shipping) as of today.

The good news is that I have more eggs from a much more reputable seller coming soon, so this sad story might have a happy ending after all. I'll keep everyone posted on that!

It's unfortunate, but there are a ton of people out there who don't give a darn about those potential lives - just the $$ they can get for them. They throw them in boxes, and cover themselves with their snuggly "after if leaves my hands I can't be held responsible" blanket regardless of what else they could do to make things go smoother. I really, really wish people would give more thought to these eggs, and the ride they will have to endure. I've bought a few hundred hatching eggs now, and most of what I have learned, sadly, is how I will NOT treat eggs or people when it's my turn to sell eggs.

I'm sorry you're having to go through this. Hopefully the next batch will make up for things.

I would still make it a case. Ebay Protection says that if the item you receive is not as described - and dead frozen eggs certainly are not what was described - you are entitled to your purchase price AND original shipping. I sell eggs on ebay every year and if there is any question in my mind about how the eggs may be received I contact the buyer immediately. The seller saying that they "can't be responsible" for good packing and shipping techniques is just plain lazy.

Winter shouldn't matter. This particular seller (which I was considering buying from) is from PA, and trust me, it was cold the last couple weeks. They HAD to have known, unless they are lying about where they live...

I'm glad they are nice enough to refund you at least. That says they are trying to fix the problem, at least. Good luck with your new eggs! Hoping for a good hatch!

Good news!!! I got my new eggs TODAY. Oh my gosh these were shipped so much better. Slathered in "fragile!!!" stickers, with a note to CALL ME when they arrived written right on the box. Post office says they normally dont call, but they did <3 got to love small town post offices I guess haha.

NONE of these eggs were frozen, every single one of them was intact, perfect, and beautiful. Tons and tons of foam in the box. Even been double boxed. I'm so happy. Here they are in my Brinsea. Happily at 55% humidity, 99.8 degrees. Happy fat eggs. Marked my calendar. I was told to put them in right away as the heat packs in the box might had started development. Can't wait for the days to pass <33
