I have come home from a few days away to a poorly chick so not sure of signs up until now as friends have been looking after the flock.

It is one of two and still with mama hen although she was further away than normal. 4 weeks old. Mama and other chick have started getting off the ground to roost so not sure if it’s an injury or ill.

It is lying on its side twittering, eyes closed most of the time, not putting weight on its legs. It’s taking water and has eaten some chick crumb this afternoon but definitely very ill.

I’ve bought it home and keeping warm and hydrated. We’ve had a sudden death in a different flock while we were away, not sure if related...all others seem healthy.

Any tips would be gratefully received.

You think it has an injured leg right? If you feel the leg you might be able to tell what kinda injury it is if it is injured.

I’ve felt down both legs but it doesn’t seem to flinch at any particular part and they both feel ok. It’s gripping my finger with its feet too....
Won’t put any weight on them though and ends up wriggling around on its back
