Gotta get some bantam frizzle ladies now; the 4 guys are starting to get on each other's nerves (and combs, and neck feathers, with the black one JoJo doing the most instigating, Razzle & Dazzle usually make a beeline for my foot, preferably unshod or unsocked, and HJ is the best behaved of the lot...)

I'll never wear flip-flops around the birds again! I had a toe ring on last year and flip-flops,, these guys have a routine, one trips you, the others flock you!

I made the mistake of teaching Handheld to follow voice commands while wearing flip-flops... So he now associates "closer... closer, there ya go, eat." with the sound of.. flip.. flop.. flip.. flop

I go out there now, I dont even have to speak, I feel a bump, and if I dont turn and step ever so quietly.. I get a chunck pulled off my leg.

Well this morning Popcorn got embarrassed,,, I let them out early this morning because I got home at 6am after taking Steven to school to leave for a track meet. About 7:30 I see something that seems odd,, so I look out the door,, and there is Popcorn running hell-bent-for-leather all around the front yard,,,,,,,,, being chased by my little Bantam Cochin roo Luau........... by the time I caught him he was panting and I thought he was going to pass out in my arms. I put him down in the pen and what does he do??? Tries to flog me! I almost tossed Luau in the pen where Pops couldn't get away.....

You know, he really is a good roo,, I have to feel sorry for him though because now I know how hen-pecked he really is! Lissy has developed a behavior I don't know if she did to him at home or not. She will turn her back on him and sit in a corner with her butt towards him and he stands behind her clucking and growling, trying to get her attention and she just keeps turning her back on him! Then he gets chased by the little guy.... at least he told the human off! I could just see him telling everyone how he was just about to beat up Luau,, but that darn human got in the way and grabbed him! Of course he won't mention he was hiding under a board leaning against the side of the house!

Poor Popcorn. I can picture it- probably the same look the biggest little rooster used to have when he was watching the Ladies go to their coop. He's just taking his frustrations out on the humans.

When Steven went out to close everyone in after we got home from dinner tonight, Pops was sitting his kennel all alone,, Lissy was in the others! Steven put her in with Pops and she went to the back and turned her back on him. Guess he shouldn't have been roosting in the wrong coop last week! She holds a grudge better than a human!
