I came in from working in the yard one day to hear some music blaring from the back of the house:
I'm gonna f**k the b**ch, Gonna kick her in the head.
Gonna pop a cap in her until she is {{ chorus: dead!! }}.
Im gonna throw her and toss her right out in the gutter,
Gonna cruise downtown and get me anudder...{{ chorus: f**k it!!}}"
It was coming from my daughters room. She said her friend gave it to her. We never heard it or anything like it again at our house. Today, she loves Kenny Chesney.
It's not the the "age gap" or "artistic license" that is at issue here. It is the content of certain so called music that is of concern.
Certainly not all music is bad and, yes, some of Eminems lyrics are insightful.
But some others are downright disturbing to anyone with half a brain. Perhaps that is the real problem; ignorance.
When the lyrics of a song endorse a life of violence, crime, murder, hatred, mysogeny, drug abuse and more, you gotta ask yourself - "Why is this good stuff? Someone remind me again..."
