I didn't think of the oil part. I only just got him to drink some water. He had to do it on his own, since I couldn't pry his mouth open. Since he managed that, I'll try the oil in a few minutes.

i just learned a new way to open the chickens mouth. you ever get a dog to swallow a pill? hold its head in your fingers and rub down on the throat . i can do it with one hand now. i know its easy to choke them though.
 
I manged to give him just a drop of oil. His breathing seems steadier now, and he isn't all splayed out like before.

Right? The one downside to this whole thing is not knowing where those eggs came from. There's no telling who Moose's parents are, or how well bred they were. Poor guy has got some issues.
