TwoCrows, that`s just too cold where you are. LOL Our most extreme here is the rare single digits for maybe a day or two. It might have got to 0° here maybe once in my lifetime.

i got to stay home. everything decided to "cut loose" today. he ate alot! making up for lost time in one day.lol the doctor did ask that i bring him but things are better so it can wait for monday.

hey all couldn't resist chuckeling at your comments on cold. THe high today here was -17 with a wind of 23 mph . Dealing with frozen water pipes in the kitchen. Still have ton's of Christmas baking to do. I have made 12 batches of fudge and 13 of homemade carmels. plus 63 dozen cookies so far. Plus silly me keep selling my eggs to customers so have to go squeeze the chickens again. Not even letting the girls outside in this weather. It might encourage the half naked girls to hurry up and grow some feathers though. So far allt he roosters thrown over the fence are doing fine. Of course they weren't plucked half naked by over zealous roosters. Hope thing went well with you son Granny.

I NEED FUDGE !!!! its an emergence ! do you make it the old way or cheat and use powdered sugar?
 
nobody ever feeds me around here! a girl could starve to death waiting on a hand out. of course, i could live off the fat of the land for a while but all this christmas cooking is driving me wild!! its not that i cant cook, im just allergic to the kitchen.
 
never heard of using powered sugar. so guess its the old fashioned way. Lots and lots and lots of stirring. My right arm should be 3x as big as the left but not so far. Still have to make bjorter kockels and pizzaels (spelling?) and Norwegian white cookies. plus oatmeal CRAsian. Have to et care/Christmas packages of to siblings with wives unable to bake/cook. And a sister with to little ones underfoot. My 5 year old niece says " that Uncle Scott is sure a good cooker" also calls my chokecherry jelly and syrup "choke sauce" she is a pistol. Also about 20 to 25 lbs of Swedish meatballs. Secret is everything I make freezes really well so I only have to do the Meatballs every couple years. The gravy includes some very strong coffee.
