Possible respiratory infection, peafowl?

Hi there, that looks like an infection. What country are you in? How much does the peacock weigh? If I had one like that I would give Baytril (enrofloxacin). The human equivalent of that is ciprofloxacin.

I am in Spain @casportpony, I’ve had my pharmacist look for me, couldn’t find Tylan or any of the above, I will ask him for Baytril or failing that Ciprofloxacin, I think he is around a couple of kilos, but will weigh him this evening.

Thanks Casportpony

@casportpony I got some Ciprofloxacin in 250mg tablets, I assume, I break them in half so they are 125mg, crush them up and administer in Peacocks water 1g per 2litres of water?
I wanted to start with something as soon as possible, the pharmacist has ordered me something, I’ll post on here. It should be here this afternoon.

Ok, I will weigh him tonight, as I am not home. Should it be 10mg per kilo as with Baytril? Thanks @casportpony, from a very concerned peacock dad!
I need to look up the dose again, but I think it's at least 10 mg/kg.
