Possible respiratory infection, peafowl?

@casportpony he weighs just a touch under 4kg, I’ve read somewhere else that between 15mg and 40mg per kg of Ciprofloxacin. So I’m going to give 125mg. I’ve isolated him, which he isn’t happy about, cleaned off as much mucous as possible without hurting him. His fecal matter is worrying me a little as it has become quite liquidy, but wondered if he was stress pooing as not familiar with his new surroundings? Many thanks for all your help so far...hope it all pays off!

Those are the numbers I came up with too. Did you see anything about whether or not is should be given twice a day?

@casportpony and @Cragg Klefor, I wanted to update you both. So far peacock, has had 2 1/2 tablets out of 5, he seems to be a lot less mucus-y and one of his eyes is now quite clear and bright. He is eating and drinking and seems more alert and perky. He’s even started being a bit naughty, as we have been letting him out in the garage to allow him to stretch, at first he was happy to climb back in...now he wants to sit on top of the cage and was not happy about going back inside. He seems to be losing a lot of plumage, but I put that down to being unwell, as a hairdresser I imagine it’s the same, feathers aren’t important to health so needed nutrients go elsewhere. So fingers crossed in another 2 1/2 days he should be fighting fit...will keep you updated. Thanks for all of your help.

@casportpony this morning marked the end of Blue’s antibiotics, he seems a lot better in himself, but I’m still a little concerned about his right eye. It’s still quite swollen, but bright, I did have to really clean it before so I wonder if having to pull dried mucus away from the eye might have contributed to this? Or if there could still be infection? He seems to not really want to move very much, like, if I put him on top of the cage for bed, he is in exactly the same spot.
I want to reintroduce him to his friends, but not sure if it’s too early...what are your thoughts on this? I feel like he might need some natural light to carry on recovering, which he isn’t getting at the moment, due to being inside, but no windows in the garage.

Can you post a picture of his right eye?
