@casportpony so...just got home after rushing to get everything, tubes, syringes, hand feeding formula and Blue is sitting in his usual spot, which he hasn’t been, as he has to fly up to it. His eye is bright and open, he doesn’t seem to be gasping and he has food all over his face, where he has been eating. He was sitting proud and tall necked. I feel quite reluctant now to give him any antibiotics or feed him...

Sorry it’s dark, so he wasn’t very happy as had to take them with the flash, the yellow on his beak is the food he stole from the chickens

The right eye still looks sickly to me. Maybe hold off another day to see how he looks. Make note of weight today. Any additional weight loss or lack of gain means you should consider tubing.

I agree it isn’t 100%, but certainly better than this morning. Thought the cipro might still be working. Will definitely do what you tell me, as you’ve got him this far for me! Will update tomorrow. Thank you Kathy.

Here is what I have found in regard to dosage. But I don’t really understand it...

I don't understand that dosing either. It's 3:15 am herehere and I'm going back to sleep. When I wake up.I will look in my other books for a dose.

@casportpony of course..have a lovely sleep! I’m not home until 10am your time anyway. Others I have read seem to say between 10-20mg/kg every 8 or 12 hours.

I looked it up in two of the books I use, and you're right, seems like the common dose is 10-20 mg/kg 2-3 times a day by injection.

Can you give injections? I was also wondering if trying the Baytril for 2-3 day first is a good idea.
