I've had poopy eggs but they are rare...if they are laid in the deep litter or some such. If so, they get tossed to the dogs or the chooks.
Deep litter helps keep gals feet cleaner before they climb into nest boxes, clean nesting material is also key~any soiled material is turned or tossed with each egg collection, and my gals free range, so their feet are cleaner than chickens confined to a bare, dirty run.
Also, feeding consistency is also a way to prevent poopy eggs....any change in the diet can result in sloppy poops and poopy vent feathers. Treats and such are just such a change....my chickens get enough treats from their foraging, they do not need "treats" that can upset their digestion and cause loose bowels.
