I think we're getting 3black sex-link and 3 red sex-link pullets on the 18th

I'm waiting for the small haterchery near us to let me know if they will have the chicks I want for that hatching.
I wanted them next week but all the black sex-link were spoken for.

I'm on pins and needles. These will be my first chicks!

I just got a shipment in this morning. It was real cold so some did not make it. Most did not look like they would but I got them pepped back up. I have lost 4 so far 2 of which were doa. They are bb reds. All the packing pnuts are now ok but one looked half dead when I received it.
The packing pnuts appear to be BR. I guess all in all it turned out better than it could have.

Yeah!!!! post office just called and my babies are here!! going to pick them up now! Boy that was fast. overnight from Ideal to Decatur!!

seeing the posts on shipped babies is making me bummed....

My duckies shipped yesterday, they will probably be here tomorrow (and it's cold, don't want them to die) yet most folks I read on Ideal orders got them overnight. I called the post office, and the guy said he doesn't think they have an express shipment coming in today (so that means tomorrow).

I do live in the butt-end of beyond, though, so that is probably why it is taking a day longer.

I've never done the mail order thing - how do you folks all wait patiently for them to get here????? I'm not good at waiting.

Man!! I got two more mail orders coming this spring after the duckies - chicks and goslings. I better get my blood pressure checked, methinks
