Post Phoenix Pics Please

I knew you had some that were like that...I have to say that many of the pullets growing up from your lines are just beautiful birds - far and above prettier than the average longtail hens. Several - including this one - seem to be developing that long graceful sweep to their tails which makes them so much nicer to look at.

Here are some cameraphone photos of that pullet - no time to get her to pose - just had to snap some while they ate their morning cat food. She's no where near the level of the hen you posted, but I'm happy to get a little bit of it. The rooster she's standing next to in the second photo is about a month or two older than her.

You are too kind.. Thank you.. I really like the beautiful hens.. Good hens can never be underestimated in longtails.. Especially if you want gorgeous roos.. I am so glad you are working with my lines.. and I thank you for doing a wonderful job with them!

Hi Phoenix owners!

I hatched out two little phoenix chicks in my incubator. She gave the eggs to me for free and asked me to check fertility for her. =)

So now I have these two little guys. They're standard-sized. Their father is a BBR and their mothers are BBR, gold and silver. I don't know if you can tell what colors these are, or not. I figured I would ask all of you. I hope that is ok. The chick in the second picture is only faintly chipmunk-patterned.

It is pretty hard to tell for sure on chicks - in my experience BB reds are usually darker, silvers are usually less vibrant yellow (more pale) then goldens. But the only way to know for sure is in 6-8 weeks or so when they feather out. Good luck!

Look ginger red to me..

what I thought too. especially the last one, looks just like the shojo (ginger red) chicks I'm hatching.
The first one looks like a bb red that is carrying ginder red. Should grow out mainly like a bb red but with a lot of red in his breast instead of solid black.
Time will tell, but those are my votes for now.

blood feathers on cream barred? ginger cockerel..

mutated saddle feathering on golden cockerel Anyone else ever have roos with feathers that are rounded and flared at the ends like this..?
