those "quail" chicks sure are looking very similar to my silver quail and quail chicks at that age, body's a little more solid colored on yours is the only difference, penciled would be a good guess for now

Yep, he is one of my favs too....

I am guessing penciled.. Dad was a shojo/red ginger.. Mom was a pg golden birchen.. I will breed them to each other to see if it cleans up the penciling..

I pretty much created this guy myself

My parents bought a golden phoenix rooster from an Amish boy
And they were going to butcher him and I refused to let them

Anddddd after breeding him with x amount of hens
This is the guy that caught my eye as a chick

I am current breeding him with 3 phoenix hens
They are producing eggs like crazy

They actually look pretty nice. They mostly have Blue Breasted Red Phoenixes

I may have been assuming since they dress plainly and live such down to earth lives, that they would just raise your basic meat & egg birds. I think it's great thet some would raise ornamental fowl.
