Post Phoenix Pics Please

Pics
BBB has some nice birds and you could learn alot from him and also a person he sent me to, JJ. they have nice birds also. I'm still hoping to get a white one from them. There are a few more but like said. There are about a handful of people that actually know what they're doing. And there are no pure Onagadori in the united states and even if somebody attempts to say they have a decendant from one they will get trashed for it. So look out with somebody uses that name. I've seen it in websides that claim they are decendants from Onagadori. I personally wasn't there and can't swear that they aren't but according to the research i've done, if they are decendants there isn't enough of the breed left in the bird to even be able to claim there is. So just watch out.

Like I said before. I traded all mine off and got out of the long tails all together for breeding because of all the mess a few people put me through. But I do enjoy their looks. They are beautiful. The yokohama (sp) are just beautiful also. I dare to say more beautiful than the Phoenix. Sorry folks, don't beat me up over it please.

Strong chick that became a gorgeous teen, and I found him passed away one morning. No signs of stress, illness...nothing. Everyone else is perfectly healthy. Would love to have a few more quality whites, Aubrey, you know I would

Give me some time and I'll post pics of my guys. I have silvers, BBR's (so I'm told) gold and the white lady.

Thanks emvickery,
And you are spot on there too... not sure about the yokos though,

Gypsyschic,
yep, that's od to just loose one like that out of the blue with no obvious aliments. Hate that.
Let me know if/when you get ready for more.

Definately get some pics up, that would be nice.
I have plans to get several more, rare colors in them myself this fall to add to the bantam collection, they and the d'anver are my main passion in the chickens any more, just hard to beat a nice one in either breed to me, those tails and saddles on a nice phoenix bantam, are to die for to me.
My main coming 2 year olds, actually are still in their original blood feathers. Thought they went hard a while back, but checked them this past week end, and yep, they are all blood feather still. Plan on isolating one once they molt next time, just to see what I can get lenght wise out of him as I have plenty to work with on breeding now..
Will add some pics in a little while myself of the new additions from this year, have a 5-6 month old silve showing EXCELLENT potential, 2 foot already with saddles dragging 4-5 inches on the ground!!

Hey guys, got a few pics of my kids as promised. Aubrey, here's your white girl too. Sorry none of the pics are that great, I'm just not good at taking photos

Feel free to critique...they are all about 4.5-5mos old

gypsy, they look so pretty. I just love the hens with their long tails. Mine are not friendly at all, but the hen is getting there. I need to get some pics, but it's hard when they think you want to eat them. lol

They are all private stock, not hatchery, and as you can see, there is room for improvement. Like Aubrey, I have a passion for this breed

So I will continue my venture as rough/long as it may be, LOL! Are your guys LF or bantams?? Mine eat from my hand, even jump up (tricks) to get fresh veggies or fruit from my hand. They all litterly (spelling??) FLOCK around each time I'm in with them.

yep ats how most all my bantams are
Actually hae a silver pullet that I cant keep off me. Every time I go in her pen, she flys up on my shoulder, and I actually have to pick her up and set her off me to leave.

The silver cockerel you have going does look to have some nice potential too!

I was hopeing to show my phoenix roos again come fall but there tails dont look that good this time,
hmm.png
I want to make a cage flooring to get them up off the ground, the rain that we got did a crud number on them.

Thanks Aubrey, he's coming along I guess. I've got 18+ of these guys, so like you, I'm trying to get new colors to work with. Would love to swap eggs with anyone who has something different than what I've got. Not sure what colors you would get from mine, but when they start laying this fall I'll hatch about 50 eggs then start sharing them with who-ever is interested at that time. Have a great weekend guys and I'll try to get a few more pics up of other colors.
