Pics
I saw the Black/gold as a youngster when I was at the facility......That is going to be a spectacular bird!...He had quite a full train even as a juvenile.....is the white a bantam?.........................................................chrisf

yep I think so too, I hate his tail got messed up in shipping, but it's still pretty darn thick and filling back in quickly.
He told me he was a cross of his lavender to his white to try to get all black, but his always come up with the gold backs, which personally I think is beautiful. actually hope to get some more like that and see if I can get them to breed true.

Once I told him I had a solid black pullet from Toni, he told me about this birds and said he'd send it to me to try with her to see if we could get some true blacks.
That and obviously try the white or lavender over her too to see which gives the best uniform color.

Yes the white (all mine actually) are bantam, he looks way bigger in the pic than he actually is cause I zoomed in on him and cropped out all the other stuff in the pics.
He's about 13-15 inches tall is all.

He gave me the choice on him, slate legged pure phoenix, or willow legged onag hybred, so obviously I went with the hybred to try it, and have to admit, he's my only non slate legged bird here (aside from the barred) but I LOVE him, worth every penny to me.

Yes, you are right, he bred the Lavender to the white, however, all the females come out pure black, all the males have gold leakage with that breeding.........Hopefully you have a green legged pullet to put with the green legged white.....or a yellow legged pullet...that way you can continue with the green legs for duckwing colors and hopefully; yellow legs for the whites.......................it appears you have all the genetic material to go for it..................................................................................chrisf

yep, that's what I'm planing on.
Yes now that you mentioned it, he did say his pullets all came out solid black....

I also have some of his other duckwing colors on order for this spring too, so when they get here, I hope to have a nice set up of genes to work with.

Finally had a good day so what better to do than TAKE PICTURES OF CHICKENS!! Finally getting some unpacked from out of the barn from winter. Here is one of my bantam silver pairs. This rooster is 2 oz. off from the 30 oz. the Bantam Standard calls for. He's my smallest one yet!
