Post Phoenix Pics Please

Thx Decoyman and County Boy. I'm still new to having Phoenix so I'm not sure what colors. I has 6 babies hatch a few weeks ago and they do make excellent mothers. When they started sitting I almost stopped them because I had put all the phoenix together for a few days while I changed the run around. I had BBR and Gold Roos, with Silver, Gold and BBR Hens. Can you tell me the colors or markings to look for to know what colors they are?

Aubrey, I think I need to just call this the BBB influence summer. With all the d'Anver's and german Phoenix lines I got from you and the explosion of my phoenix having babies too, I will have no room for my Sultans, Polish and all the others. I think my husband is worried I'm going to convert our 30x50 barn (used as a garage) into a coop. LOL!!! Your Phoenix are the sweetest of all my phoenix. They come running up and fly up to my hands when I call to them, then sit on my shoulders while i walk around. If they stay that sweet I will want more.

haha

yep they come from really nice birds. These here, a lot of them do the same thing, got some pullets off the Schuberts right now in a grow out pen that come flying over to get on me when I go in to feed them. One acts like a puppy, just goes nuts to be around me when I'm in there, like she's been waiting all day. She doesnt even go to the feed like all the others til I leave. Funniest thing you ever saw. She'll peck my toes til I pick her up, then she's happy.

With the mix you mentioned in your breeding pen, you're in good shape. all those bred like you had them will just make more bb red, gold duckwing and silver duckwing. Just depends on who bred who, but they will all be one of those 3 colors. That's the good thing about those 3 colors, you can bred them together and still get true colors.

you can also mix duckwing, birchen, and ginger patterns and be ok too. In all 3 colors as well.

Like you, years ago I had a lot of different breeds, over time, the long tails and d'anvers have pretty much pushed all the others out the door... they are addictive!!

Like Travis just said, tell him this is just the begining

Thanks for the info Aubrey. I trust your info, others have said differently about keeping those colors separate. I could tell I was going to have a problem after I got them all last summer. My Husband is very supportive of my hobby, expensive one that it has become since I don't sell anything (birds or eggs literally) they are just an expense I feel like I need to TRY and control my desires to expand. Here's a couple of pics of some of the other chicks, but they aren't very good. Took a photo of my sweet silver duckwing, Oliver. I got him from someone that just needed to get ride of him and a hen. I had a mean Cubalaya that got into his pen one day while I was at work and beat him up terrible. I took him to the vet, he could recover, but lost his vision. I thought about putting him down he looked so bad, until I saw how depressed his girlfriend when I took him out. A day or two later I put her in a cage with him in the parlor and they started talking to each other and rubbing their faces together. I have gradually increased his space and he gets around pretty well, but most important he is always with his girl. They are the sweetest thing to watch. I have but all of the new Scherberts I got from you in there with them and they seem very happy. Anyway his my baby and I'm keeping them.
