Post Phoenix Pics Please

just got in from the pic taking for you too. It's still drizzleing rain here so there's no light out for a good pic, so here's a few just to show you at least. She normally carries her tail at a much lower angle, she was PO ed that I got in the pen with her and was tring to isolate her for the pic.

You can see for a girl she's got pretty good hooks on her legs

You can also see, this one has a much larger wattle than normal, aside from color, you'd swear body type she was a roo.

Just one of her next to a normal hen to see the difference. Note how she even has a cock style stance to her compared to the normal hen.

I've got one of her that Toni sent me from her first year when she was still up there. It shows her good cockerel feathering as a pullet, but it's not wanting to load for some reason.

But anyway, that's what the average cockerel feathered pullet grows in to in most cases.
ouu nice!
whos the roo youre gonna breed her to

True true,
How beefy do the birds get?

I have a really nice bantam...
I want to make standards out of him... Suggestions?
to make standards just breed him to that standard hen you posted a pic of. May take a couple of back crosses, but you should see some size change pretty quick. I can also get you some eggs off these imports next spring if it'll help you out.

You asked size wise on them. The Schuberts are monsters to me, a good 6-8 pound looking bird. Never put one on a scale, but I'm sure the roos are every bit of that. The Ismers I have a about 1/3 that size. to me they are inbetween banatm and normal large fowl. 3-4 pounds would be about it on the ones I have

not to scare you or anything, but his comb sure looks pale in that pick. Is he sickly? Just looking at him there and then the first pick of him.
haha oh no worries
its the camera quality
or he must have been very calm so he turned pale, you know what I mean...
When cockerels are calm or not exposed to the sun much they have that pale tint to their face
