I am sure it is...if he is all you have and all you can get and you do want to breed him. the gold leakage can be bread out but it will take a lot of work and a lot of culling.

Compared to mine yours look great: mine have a lot of feathers missing off the backs of their necks. I think they are "coming" into their own and taking it out on each other. LOLHe is missing a few. There are feathers everywhere around here;.
He is nice and the only thing that matters is if you like him. I kept one black cockerel out of my hatches but unless he is going through a "gangly" stage I am not liking him much now. I will give it a little more time before I cull him.
The pullet is very pretty and I agree with the other poster (lotsofcluckin ?) about the color leakage.
Have you tried sitting close by and offering treats to her? I have found with mine this seems to bring them around some. Good luck.I am a kid so I go to school so her day will be just free ranging and being scared of every thing really she is even her food
Then when I get back from school I handle her
Right, Lets start with Bella's mother. She really does just live up to my expectations. You know how she was broody on 6 CLB eggs and I said that she will probably screw it up?! Well guess who smashed 3 eggs, left the nest for about 6 hours, let me smash the eggs finding a baby in one and then out of no where ran back to sit on the empty nest? She is so stupid when it comes to sitting on eggs. She is back out with the other girls now but still checks for eggs in the nest box to sit on but luckily know one is laying because they are molting. When she was on the nest, Daisy's baby insisted on getting in the nest box with her with caused a lot of fights between them (I don't know if I have already posted that before). So heres some pics of her:
Now Daisy. She is EVENTUALLY getting her feathers back after being attacked in April/May. She has some nice golden ones coming through so she is a bit multi coloured.

Now Bella. I have never had a hen that molted at 1 year old. So I think Bella being the awkward hen she is decided she wanted to be the first. I think her taking in her mothers chicks is going to backfire on her because one of the chicks keep leveling her up and she doesn't seem to think much of it and just ignores it. But I can tell the chick thinks its the boss of her so she needs to put it in place before it gets any bigger. She is looking a bit scruffy at the minute and seems to feel too down to cause any drama. I think she has only challenged the top hen twice in the past couple of weeks, but thats it.
These are some of the Buff Orps (plus some Orpingtons but not sure if they are orps or not) at my college.
SORRY FOR BAD QUALITY PICS, BYC MAKES THEM LOWER QUALITY WHEN I UPLOAD THEM
