post pics of your rescue pets

Here are our ex battery hens, now rehomed to our school. Sadly 2 have since died - but they had a good life with us, up til then, becoming very tame and friendly.

They didn't have many feathers at first so we made them some jumpers to wear.

They laid VERY large eggs for us - but NOT double yolks!

We've since rescued a rather handsome Barnvelder cockerel who was destined to end up in a curry - but I haven't uploaded any photographs of him yet.

These are my two kitties, Muddy & Dolly. They come from entirely different families and places, but you'd never know it by looking at them, they are two peas in a pod. Muddy is the one sleeping with the sun on his face in the first photo, and on the left in the second. I rescued an alley cat that had kittens and he was one of them. I found them all good homes and kept him because he was very skinny. He's fine now, healthy and lovable, I've had him for 8 years. Dolly is the kitty awake in the back of the first pic, and on the right in the second pic. We got her as a kitten from a local rescue league. Shortly after we adopted her we found out the rescue league was closing due to lack of funds. This seemed odd as they had just built a gigantic, modern new location. Turns out they were paying the "higher ups" ridiculous salaries and essentially stealing funds. Everyone was appalled, because we all really thought they were a great shelter. Here's Muddy & Dolly:

In this second pic, they are in a kitty stroller. It was so fun walking them around my old neighborhood. Everyone thought we had babies, and would come close and realize they were cats!

Now I live in the woods and it's too rugged terrain to bring them out in the stroller, but they still love to jump in it and I bring them out on the deck for "outdoor" time to watch the birds, etc. I can't let them loose here, they'd be eaten in a minute. Strictly indoor kitties.

This is Gino. We originally were fostering him for rescue, but he just fit really well in our home.

Gino is a typical big dog, with alot of energy and needs a job! He didn't fit well with the family who
had him because he has a dominant personality, and sometimes, little dog people, just don't know how to handle
a big dog. He was biting them on walks etc and they didn't know how to correct it.
I took him for a walk and when he tried going after me, he learned real quick who the boss was going
to be and I've not had a problem with him since.

He wedged himself between my DH and I on the couch... on his first day with us.

He's quite the couch potato!

This is a great thread! Here's my 2 rescues - first is Wiggy, the little black kitten found her at about 3 months old starving and sick in a tree at end of my driveway - she has attached herself to my spoiled pup Molly! She's the little black kitty in my avatar pic also!

Second is Cassie who I picked up running down the yellow line on a main highway in my area - she was very sick, starving, riddled with fleas. She had no hair on the whole back half of her body, but is now gaining weight, happy, hairy and super friendly!

And heres a few of them...
All indoor, all fixed, all pampered.

This one was Patrick. Patrick was a stray bob tail we found outside under a car. He was the sweetest little cat ever. Sadley he died about 6 months later from congenital defects...(he never grew any. He was the same tiny size the entire time we had him.)
We all still miss him.

Here's Daisy, a very perculiar cat. She's a shelter rescue. Hangs out in the garage. Grooms our hairless cat. Weird, weird weird cat. Love her anyway.

Here's Bubby. Bubby was rescued from a shelter 12 years ago as a kitten.
She's very standoffish but one of the family. If you get to pet her, you're doing something right.

We have three more, that avoid the camera. Little divas...I'll see if I can rope them into a photo.

Far too many pets, but really blessed to have them!
