post pics of your rescue pets

Thanks, MagieRae! Nice ones of Miss Magic, too, especially the bottom, although that looks more like a yawn than a "kill" face to me

. She's a beautiful cat.

Here is our girl, Kes, now 13 years old. She was found by a couple wandering on the side of the highway at several months old. They picked her up and took her home. Their old dog hated her and they put her outside, then discovered that she wasn't an outside dog, being very cold natured and afraid of thunder so they gave her to the Humane Society who fostered her with a family. I found her at Petsmart and got her as a companion to my older dog, also a Petsmart adoption. She was about 8 months old then. Cody passed on a few years ago and we still have Kes, a marshmallow of a dog if you ever saw one. She's afraid of everything, especially thunder and wind, and hates when the roosters crow. She is a pointer/yellow lab cross.

Here she is with our late great Cody:

99.9% of all pets I've ever had were rescued. Here are my current ones!

This is Pippa. Her feet got caught in an incubator when she was a chick so her toes are so deformed that she cannot walk. As you can see in the picture, she kinda hobbles around on her "knees". Her previous owner raises show silkies and didn't have room for her.

This is Cheesy. She broke her leg and now has a metal rod in there. Her previous owner raises show silkies and didn't have room for her.

This is Oliver and Peanut. Oliver was a stray that adopted my husband when he was in the Marines. Peanut technically isn't a rescue but after getting him I later spent over $500 on him to save him from a near fatal indecent.

This is Tahoe. Some people my husband worked with got him as a pup and discovered that he had separation anxiety and could not be left in their apartment while they went to work. Well.. turned out that "separation anxiety" meant that he has severe mental issues. He's the only rescue I've ever regretted. His mental issues make him nearly impossible to live with but we're sticking with our commitment to care for him.

And this is me, my birds rescued me from insanity

I love the stories. I love the pictures!! Love the peaceful snugglers, the gleeful jumpers, the soulful and adoring looks, the "here comes trouble" expressions! This thread tugs at my heartstrings and makes me smile... I'm so glad it was started!

Love all the great pics! The bigger collie is Roman(Romie), so named because he was found roamin' around Minneapolis. I fostered him and when I found out his medical issues, I kept him. He is a loving and polite boy,my sweetheart. He is with Willow, his annoying little "sister".

This is Frodo, he weighs 17 lbs and drools like a St Benard. I got him from Lake Haven a local pet rescue where my boys used to do volunteer work.

Hobbit, he has 26 toes. Also a rescue from Lake Haven. He suffers from separation anxiety. Can usually be found somewhere on me.

And Pippin, our purebred toy rat terrier. Got him when he was 9 months old from another local rescue. The previous owners had very many pets and gave him up because he was too hyper. He has never been too hyper for us. He has been the smartest dog I have ever had.

This is my "Angel" Athena. She went to the Rainbow Bridge Sept 9 of this year. She was 14 1/2. She was born wild in my backyard and I tamed her. She was the best cat I have ever lived with. I miss her so much

These are the two "adorable" kittens Athena sent to me. I had cried all weekend after I lost Athena. I had spent the Sunday after she died on the internet looking for another Tuxedo cat/kitten, which was a lost cause. When I got home from work Mon. afternoon, something told me to look on CL. The VERY 1ST post was for "free kittens, 8" I emailed the person and she said she had 4 longhaired. I asked her to email me pics. One was a longhaired Tuxedo

She wouldn't eat for almost 2 weeks after Athena died. I thought I was going to lose her, too.
