Can you give us dimensions and some pics of the interior ?

Thanks so much! We're really happy with it. It's 4 x 4 x 5, and the nesting boxes stick out about 16 inches on one side. The base is about 2 feet high. Our plan is to attach an 8-foot-long run to one side. I'll take some pics of the interior tomorrow and post them.

That is an awesome coop! Beautiful!!!!

Here's our new coop! Should be ready to pick up on Sunday, not quite finished yet. We will be extending the run, so the girls have more room when they have to be locked in. So excited I can't stand it! Chicks should be hatched around the 20th. The chicken lady said she will keep them until late May for us, as we are not prepared to care for little ones. We ordered 6 Buff Orpingtons.....Here chicky chicky!!

Love love love !!!

Where do u get such large kennel panels ?

I can't answer for sacchick, but I was just given four of these panels by a family member who bought them from a local farmer's co-op. They are incredibly strong and sturdy and easily connected together. Of course, the holes are too big to make a truly predator-proof run, but my chickens will only be in it during the daytime.

Those coups are SO PRETTY!!!

My next project is to convert a horse stall into a coup ... basically so I can have company when I'm in the barn mucking stalls LOL! It's a12 x 12 box stall. Not sure what I'm going to do but, basically stapling the mesh cloth to the ceiling and down the walls. Then I'm going to attempt a repurposing venture again, making roosts and nest boxes from things around the farm and house.

So far I've got it emptied. It used to be my tack area ~ so lots to move. i also found an old trunk I will use as a the brooder for the first two weeks, with the first batch (6) hens. Now I have to find something for the two week-olds ... after a month, they should be able to go to the barn with a heat lamp.

:D Can't wait for the new arrivals!!!

I dug a ditch all the way around where the run and bottom of coop are setting. The I dry packed a 4" layer of sackrete before setting the coop and run on top of that, then just filled in with dirt. The floor of the run is sand. Have not had problems with any predators.

So the girls are getting somewhat used to the new digs. Here's a couple pics from today. They still lay in the same spot.

If I find they roost on that board I will remove the hay, except that one end where they lay, and I will use it as a roost. I will wait to see what the other chickens do when they call it home. for now ... these two girls roost on the lower roost.

Now I am going to tackle this project ~ the 12 x 12 stall. They will have the whole space once I get it emptied. And I am going to try and repurpose some stuff, boards, shelves, whatever i can find, to build the habitat ...

Time to get cracking !!!
