post your chicken coop pictures here!

Nice coops, everyone!  I'm so jealous - can't wait for Spring to arrive so we can start our build...but alas...we are getting more snow!  UGH!! Thankfully the chicks don't arrive until May - surely, spring HAS to have happened by then??  :idunno
I'm jealous as well. Ours is built but we're residing with reclaimed barn lumber, adding functional windows and painting the interior it will be like a new coop when we're done.

Simple and far from fancy, but my four hens (looking for a couple more) and rooster like it.

Will put a lot of work into building a safe fenced area with some roof also to the area in the first picture, that did have a fence during the first period when my family had chickens. Will think what to do with the inside as I go along.

Wow there are some luxurious COUPS on here!!! Mine is boring, but it works. It is a 12 x 12 cottage divided into duck and chicken coups. The chickens have two thirds of the space.

I just recycled some old shelves and made some nest boxes today. And I boxed up the high nesting area, so eggs don't roll. My girls like hay to nest in, so I filled them up.

I recycled a shovel handle and a 2x4 and made roosts running perpendicular to the lower nest boxes.

Then I made the separate access door with a ramp.

Lastly I put a vintage door on the outside, which I didn't get a picture of.

I'm *expecting* young-uns in a few weeks, but they won't be ready for the coup for a long time. Still I feel better knowing the space is there.

Sweet, I like it.
I am not sure , my cousin said that his roost seemed to work better with a square (2x2) cross roost than a round ones said their craws hold on better and they don't fall off as easy ??

What do you think?

The spray foam is super and I like the rooster framing above the entry way, nice job :) , only reason I went as far as I did was my little girl does so well in school and I just started and ended were I have so far,,, I like yours a lot.

I love that rooster picture! Looking for something similar. Might even stencil one instead.

I'd lose the upper nest boxes, they'll roost in them and poop them up, they like to roost up high....turn them into roost boards easy to clean night poops.

Love the rooster art, where did you get that?

Thanks. The rooster art came with the property. It was on the coup when we purchased our farm

We'll see about the upper boxes. For now my two gals chose the 2x4 roost and they lay up on the higher nest box. I didn't want to change it in case they stopped laying lol!!

If I get some roosting up there I will have to relocate/take it down.

:)
