I think this is the proud mama, I have 10 and I really have no idea who's laying.

They are so cute, I love the warm color.

If they only knew what we do with their babies

I apologize if this shows up posted twice.

These are the first eggs we got, just took a couple of days to get the photo.

The brown ones on the right are the last store bought eggs we had. The rest are all from our EE's, check out the big dog in the back left corner. Lots of difference in coloration.

I have 9 pullets that are 21 weeks old and one of the two RIR,s started laying this week.
The other RIR isnt far behind because she is starting to do the same squating thing when I
go to pet her on the back. the ohters are 2 SLW and 4 BA and 1 Black Star.

we are all in the same boat my first 6 girls are 20 weeks old and it looks like I might get eggs soon but I am still waiting.

I got my FIRST EVER egg yesterday!!!

We had 1 of our 2 RIR hens inside for the night in a cage because she didn't want to be out in the coop with the Roos and other hens. When my 4 year old son got up yesterday he said "there's an egg Daddy". I didn't believe him at first because I wasn't expecting any eggs for about another month. So I get up and go check and sure enough there's an egg in there with her and when I picked it up it was still warm, she must have just layed it. So I went outside to the coop so I could let the chickies out of the coop and decided to look inside to see if there were any eggs in there too. There was nothing in the 3 nest boxes and then I noticed in the back corner of the coop there was a nest and it had 2 eggs in it.

These 2 eggs must be from my 3 Phoenix since they are so much smaller.

I took some pics of them to post and as soon as I find that little gizmo you put the memery stick in I will post the pics.

These chicks were still on starter feed since I wasn't expecting eggs for another month so I filled up their feeded with the layer feed for them. I got a calender out and counted up their approx age and they are about 21 weeks old.
