Hoo hoo! Yesterday I got my FIRST EGG (which we summarily ate). Today I got TWO, one from the Maran and one from the Golden Sex Link, which I would have sworn wasn't mature enough to lay. The White Leghorn is still slacking off! Woo hoo!

My First teeny tiny egg, smaller than a golf ball

not sure who laid it. I have 21 girls: 2 partridge rocks, 2 dark cornish, 1 silver lace wyandott, 2 columbian wyandottes, 3 buff orpingtons, 1 buff rock, 4 black australorps, 3 whilte rocks, 2 light bramas and 1 new hamp red. I wish I knew who it was, I would give her a spa treatment today!!

We found not one, not two, but seven eggs on our girls' first day (yesterday)! (I think DD missed them the day before.) Anyway, here they are, 5 from our banty EEs and 2 from our banty Barred Rock. They made very cute poached eggs.

My GSL lays te same look of eggs. She has been laying for a couple weeks now and now about half of the egg is light with no speckles and the other half is dark with speckles. Her shells are also very very strong

Picked up my chicks May 13th 09', I was told they were a week or two weeks old at that time. Just last week I placed some straw in the nesting boxes, just in case??? And today August 19th 09' I found my first egg from my new girls! She used one of the nesting boxes too.

Wooohooo! My first egg today!! I assume it's one of the BA girls. Definitely not a banties first egg. It's sitting in the 1 teaspoon spoon beside of a quarter. Shell is good texture and thickness. I'm just tickled pink!!!

This is the first egg of the second pullet laying... a silkie egg maybe? It's super tiny (0.7 oz) and a creamy tan color. She's 17.5 weeks old
