Today 2/12/11 I got my first silkie egg!

Unfortunately it got cracked by the bigger cochins

I really wanted to put it in the incubator to see what hatches too

Lets see if there is another one tomorrow

Our 23 week old SS, Rosy finally laid her first egg! She was the last one out of 4 to lay.
Here's the egg! (It's the one on the left of the quarter, the other one is there from our other ones to show how dark it is.)

Two of the first eggs! It was really surprising because I've had the chickens since last May without eggs. Now if only the quail would start laying....

My first egg! It is the brown one, sitting next to an store bought "large" egg for comparison. The color in the "top down" photo is more accurate. It is very light. Now, to try and figure out which of 8 ladies laid it!

I got some BCMs from Wynette in early October (they are *so* pretty!). Someone decided that today would be the perfect day to start laying. Enjoy the pics!
