It's no wonder she's been so loud lately, and she's been squatting up to 10 times a day the past few days!

I think that my BLR Wyandotte laid her first egg today, but I'm not sure if it was her. I have gotten eggs from some of my other chickens, so I'm pretty used to THEIR egg colors. This one was a light brownish/pinkish color. Do Wyandottes lay eggs that light ?

This came yesterday. Cuckoo Marans, 19 weeks old. Sure wasn't expecting it this early......Especially with the heat we've been having. This morning found a soft shell egg below the roost. I've had oyster shell out for them but now that they've started laying, I'll go get some Layer crumbles today. The first egg is tiny, and so was the soft shell but we'll give her a while to work out the kinks

. Just glad to see some "egg action", I had a smile on my face all morning and took this pic to send to family and friends, haha!
