I'd like to recommend a book for future reading, if I may. It's called Chicken and Egg, by Janice Cole. It's a combination cookbook/chicken information/story of her chickens with gorgeous pictures and good info. It's very touching, and the recipes are delicious!

The Welsummers by Joseph Batty is a good one if you want to read about Welsummers.

I could not find How to Raise Chickens by Christine Heinrichs at my local library but I will keep looking.
My suggestions for November is either Keeping Chickens by Jeremy Hobson and Celia Lewis - which you can pick up at Lowe's for around $17 - or Chick Days by Jenna Woginrich.
