Poultry Breeds of Spanish Ancestry

They are flashy birds. Boggles my mind why more are not involved. Lacy, I love the light rooster you have. Do you sell or put your culls in the freezer? I'm amazed by so many birds but can easily see how when you are involved in this it that they quickly add up.
Usually, the culls go to the freezer. If I think I can sell some I will but when I have to cull the real young ones, they just go away.

Thanks Jason.

I guess I killed the thread again. I think I'll stop sharing pics of my pathetic birds. At least I can admit what I have and am working on improving them. These were not handed to me already stunning.

I guess I'm having a bad day!

no not at all . I have been so busy I have not been on here a lot. My wife's been using the computer for photography so I have been checking from my phone which is hard to load pictures and type .
Keep sharing pictures

It is hard and lonely working with the Spanish breeds. For some reason they are not catching on very well with people.

There are some really bad looking things coming out now as the new hot thing in poultry too.
its such a surprise as well on that. With all the farms and free rangers out here in California with our climate I would of figured they would become more popular quicker.
Lets face it they are a perfect bird out here.

I'm looking to rehome my Empordanesa I think to better focus on my crele and black. I just don't have the space, this run is starting to lay and so far this run is housing both black Penedesenca and white Empordanesa. ughh such a hard decision but I'm so limited on runs. The Empordanesa have been hard to move the culls up here. White Chickens in the Mountains is not a great combo as something eventually gets them. The Crele and Partridge seem to blend in much better.

It is good to focus!

They look nice Jason. I hope they find a nice home.

You know, I used to live in those same mountains. When I first started out, I got black sexlinks and speckled sussex. I don't know how I ended up getting white birds from that but the second year, I had white birds. I thought they would really stand out and that the others could hide in the forest better. I think my white birds lasted longer than my camouflaged birds did!
