Power outage!!!

Not sure if it hatched yet..or if you helped it? I would say from your description that it was just turning. They will breath really hard, it's hard work to get outta there! The head is curved down and around and under the leg, it always amazes me at how they wriggle around in there to be where they should be.

I helped him out of the egg, it seemed like there was a lot of blood but now that I think of it there really wasn't that much. Once I got him out of the egg I put him back in the incubator but he still hasn't gotten up to walk. He is just sitting/laying there taking deep breaths. If you try and move him he kicks but that's all. He is also chirpping so I think that's a good sign....

I had an assisted hatch baby that was downed for a day and a half! So dont get freaked out if it doesnt stand up by tomorrow. It will come around, just make sure the other chicks dont pick on her!

Here was my little Miracle minutes after hatch..

That makes me feel SOOOOO much better, that's how he is laying and I was scared that I had done something wrong. I'm only 15 and I want to be a vet, after doing this it made my dream go down the drain. Now I'm not as freaked out. Thank you so much!

Post #12 she said the chick was an assisted hatch so he was probably hatched too early since she said he's laying just like my chick in the post above but it was either hatch early or die so I think she made the right call!
