PPBA Show in Stockton, CA in January?

Cheryl, I only bought one sales cage... and looking at my list of what I decided to take to sell, I would very much like to buy your extra

I am planning on making up cards for my birds. The 4-Hers will provide them if you do not care to make yours ahead of time. I just figure my computer writes more legiably than I do.

I am open to suggestions on how to get about 24 extra working hours into the next 2 days. Egads I am not feeling that prepared, I went out to the coops this morning to find a water running freely

. Rather than try to fix it, I just took a deep breath and turned off the line that feeds out to my birds... this is one issue that I can put off until I return.

My trailer is still set up for dogs, and not chickens, on a happy note, my shampoos and spritzes just arrived, courtesy of UPS, and I did get the drying cages staged and set up tonight in my parent's garage... Now if I just do not hit snooze in the morning, I can catch my few non-caged birds without too much fuss and hopefully still get started washing by 8am.

I already warned the neighbors if they hear crowing coming from my parents garage, they are just dreaming, and no unauthorized poultry are hanging out next door.

I am so grateful the parents left for Palm Desert last week.

I still need to find time to do some laundry and pack for myself... I fear I may be the rumpled one with the really clean birds. LOL. I sure hope sweats are acceptable attire for the banquet, I can dress them up with "My pet makes my breakfast" shirt

Will keep your friend, her family and you in my thoughts tomorrow for a successful surgery. Put some Vet RX on the few nails you have left... will help you not chew them to nubbs.

Cheryl, I'll be keeping your friend in my thoughts and hoping her surgery goes as well as possible.

It may feel odd running off to a chicken show with something scary like that going on with your friend, but it's probably a good thing. It'll help keep you busy and let her rest after her surgery.

Hoping for the best, and keep us updated.

I'm sorta tempted to bring my extra bantam sumatra cockerel along. I'll bet some 4H kid or fan of this amazing breed would want him there, especially because I only saw one pair for sale last year and I'm only asking $25 for him, but it'll be such a hassle to bring him along. Hmmm, I've got to think about this!

O.k. Cheryl, take a deep breath....now just think about how important being there for your friend is and how much I am sure she appreciates you. All the rest is small stuff and if you need anything at all for the show, or forget something I am sure one of us on here can either lend it....or search it out for you!!

You have to admit being first time show-ers (is that a word?) it is fun not to know it all....remember to enjoy the journey, soon enough we will be old ladies (and me probably a really old lady

) and we will look back and say "remember our first show, we were so nervous and packed everything in our home to take with us...heeeheeee"

I will be praying for Sharon, her entire family, as well as you and your family. Keep her strong. My mom was diagnosed and has been battling with ovarian cancer for 9 years now and they originally gave her a year to live. At 74-yrs-old she still joins us each year for a trail riding/camping trip and she rides her horse all three days!!!!

Is there something I can help with to make it easier for you to bring him along? I don't live far away, if it is a matter of where to house him overnight, I could take him home with me each evening for you. Let me know if I can help in anyway! Carrie

WOW you guys are all so awesome, I really didn't mean to spew out all that and take up space on this thread. I really appreciate and all your thoughts...and for sure I will have forgotten something and will need help

do we have a list of cell phones going somewhere, maybe we can email all to one person and then they can email the list to each of us back?

You guys have fun at the show! I'll be here entertaining friends for a few days. This is my best friend for over forty years and her husband. I could drag them to the chicken show but I better not. For twenty plus years I made her go to more funerals and viewings than you can count and she didn't even know the deceased! They were dialysis patients of mine and I made her go so I didn't have to go alone. So I think the chicken show would be pushing the limits of friendship.

Anyway, drive safely and check your low beams and fog lights before you leave. That area has been socked in with fog nearly every morning for weeks, sometimes with almost zero visibility.

Good luck to those showing and those buying and selling. I am jealous! Take lots of pictures!

Mary

I second the photo agreement idea. It never fails someone catches a wide view of me....or with me ready to eat/stuffing my face/rolling my eyes the list goes on!!!

I bet you all can't wait to meet me!!!
