Prairie Bluebell Egger

Ok having a hard time editing but does that look like a rooster ? I have two of them, 5 months old, the other one is smaller, and one of them laid a blue egg.View attachment 2013697
Awww! They are so pretty! The smaller one on the left definitely doesn't look like a rooster to me. The bigger one on the right though I'm unsure about. It doesn't have the traditional pointed tail feathers or saddle feathers it looks like and it doesn't look like theres really any wattle development. I would say it could still be a pullet but I am no expert haha

The way the tail stands up so high on this one makes me think it could possibly be a rooster, but if I remember correctly the Prairie Bluebell Eggers are mixed with Leghorn, and even Leghorn hen's tails stand up pretty high. I have some hens that have Leghorn in them and their tails stand up pretty high but they are definitely hens

I got to bluebells last year. They do have the most beautiful powder blue egg. Mine are smaller in size and completely gray they're really pretty The chicken in your picture looks a lot like the Easter Eggers I have. Minus the muffs. My friend also got some at the same time and hers were completely gray and one ended up being a rooster the only difference I noticed in him other than size was he got red blotches with his gray color

That sounds so pretty!! I can't wait for her to start laying so we can add some color to our egg cartons! Do yours lay pretty consistently or are they more of a light quantity egg layer?

During the end of summer into fall they were pretty darn consistent. Almost one a day from each. And I also have an Easter egg or who lays a blue egg but when you put it side-by-side it looks teal and the blue bell is just a beautiful powder blue. They are really pretty birds too I'm just not a fan of the smaller ones birds. But I think when it comes to them I don't know if there's a consistent. But as far as egg laying until we started losing daylight hours and we weren't getting much from anybody they were pretty steady layers

I think and if I'm remembering correctly I know definitely lake horn but I believe they're mixed with Americanas And after having them for almost a year makes perfect sense. They lay more than my Easter Egger or an Americana which I'm sure attributes to leg horn but definitely beautiful eggs
