Pray That This Wasn't Connected To The Missing Five Year Old

Your so very correct. Criminals ARE way too babied in this country! I think if things were harsher that people would think twice about doing some things..

I have not watched the news today,so I am not up to date.I did tell my dh over the weekend that I do not understand why those involved and/or charged are not interrogated with methods they use on terrorists like that water board or whatever they are using these days.I feel you need to do *what you need to do* to find out where the child is....and hopefully they are still alive.

Very sad what is happening to people of all ages these days due to perversion and boredom.

A conversation my DH and I have frequently is:
"do you think sex crimes are MORE prevelant now than 200 years ago"?
"do you think as a society are we MORE sexually depraved than 200 years ago"?
"do you think the easy availabilty of porn has increased our appetite for depravity IE it takes more to intrigue a pervert than 200 years ago"?

Question 1 and 2 Dh consistantly flip flops on yes we are no we aren't depending on the day.I consistantly think we are WORSE than 200 years ago because at least then the oppotunity sees to be less.

Question #3 he used to say no he doesn't think so.In the last 2 years he has changed his mind to come around to MY point of view.

But to play devil's advocate I am SURE there was oppurtunity 200 years ago with men off hunting for long stretches.

Anyway THIS is one of the many debates we have on a regular basis here.

How could a mother do this to her own child it is unbelievable what people can and will do, this is a 5 year old child that they are saying was sold for prostitution how could anyone do that she is still a baby and if they have these two why have they not found the little girl, its unbelievable makes me sick and I am also losing faith in the human race sometimes there seems to be more bad people then good people and how can someone say this woman is a good mother if she has been charged with these crimes and the child has only lived with her mother for a month it makes no sense to me the bad thing is that us tax payers will be paying for them for the rest of their lives and if they get the death penalty we will pay more money for that then if they rot in prison for the rest of their lives seems unfair to me.

I think 'chop' is too quick and easy. I'm thinking slow perforation with a rusty Girl Scout knife that has been corroding in my trunk for the last 7 cars and then a slow pulling-until-severs is more appropriate.

I'm sick to my stomach about this story. I can't begin to think how society can fail so horribly as to not weed out this behavior, but to foster it by doing away with public humiliation. If we publicized bad behavior and publicly ridiculed the criminals, kids would be brought up avoiding deviant and criminal behavior. Instead, we hide from it and hide the behavior and punishment (or lack thereof) from our kids, thus not instilling them with a desire to avoid all of the above!! This is how we end up with teens lighting other kids on fire for telling on them for stealing.

*deep breath* I say we bring back the stockades and throw rotten veggies at folks who act like schmucks...it'll decrease the frequency of incidents.
