prayer warriors (following Jesus Christ, everyone welcome)

If you hang out with certain people you act like them so yeah monitoring friends is important but you also need to teach your child that they going to face evil in this world and how to deal with it and how to say that's not for me. Peer pressure isn't just some thing kids deal with but adults as well.

Indeed there's some truth to this, in my humble opinion and personal experience in my life. I found and learned with the people you hang out with you tend to become like and often sometimes start acting like.
There is God's wisdom that teaches us these things . I even found in dating that I would become like and pick up things from the person I was dating . It's not to keep myself in a bubble , but rather I think to be growing closer to the Lord and growing in his likeness , by hanging out with others who have the same common goal . There's a lot to be said about that . I am still a big witness to my community, to those who are not and as long as I keep myself in his word, I am not shaken by that . I like to think I'm strong in my faith and belief in my Lord, I still believe Satan is out to steal, kill and destroy God's children and anyway he can and to lie to you it doesn't matter about who you hang out with.

Indeed some of the Pure Flix movies are quite good! :D I too am a Mom do not have cable and we'll watch movies of my choosing.

Jesus Prophesy Study #53 "Be mistreated, hardly recognized"

Old Testament:

Isaiah 52:14 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
Just as many were astonished at you, My people,
So His appearance was marred more than any man
And His form more than the sons of men.

New Testament:

Hebrews 5 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
8 Although He was a Son, He learned obedience from the things which He suffered.

1 Peter 2 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
21 For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps,

I'm going to need to watch some of those haha where are they?

I got them on amazon...

They really help us understand how they lived back then, too, even though they're Hollywood recreations. They did a good job of staying true to scripture and its easy to stop at the end of each person and think about it :)

Reality shows...ugh! Is there any censorship for T.V. at all anymore??? Even high-end animated movies are proving to be adult geared with the puns and inneundos!

Ugh :p

The girls go to grandmas on Saturday, and I'm always getting the lowdown on what cartoons they watched. Can they be any more insulting? :( so sad that our children are being encouraged to act like imbeciles.

So true! My mom had these sayings, like "birds of a feather flock together", and " water seeks its own level"...

I'm sure there's a bunch of scripture to say the same thing. I'm thinking of the entire book of Proverbs ;)

But "Frozen" has magic too. And bad behavior that they never pay for.
Beauty and the Beast has magic and moral issues. As does The Lion King, and...
Disney went bye byes when Walt died, and they came out with James and the Giant Peach. They have always had magic. It's the morals that have gone.

True but I am not anywhere near OK with that one. The zombie factor and the bad guy gets dragged to hell and a few other issues but I agree alot gone down hill since Walt died

Awesome! I'll have to check it out

Well, speaking of magic in movies and holidays that aren't so "holy", where do we draw the line, and where do we blur it enough to allow something just to attract a certain persona into the Church?

Christmas trees would be the perfect example. Why is an obviously pagan rooted holiday item displayed in so many churches? I find it a bit...odd....magic, in a church...?

On our own outside of church, sure, we're going to run into worldly things, but I don't think plopping it into the Church is really correct. I think Paul pointed that out...

I'd go copy and paste it, but honestly right now I'm stretched to the max; had to miss church with a kid with the flu and a teething baby... But I'm sure you guys can find it :D
