Great to see this thread! Im new to chickens and this form!! So far it seems like God made chickens for more then just eating!

I'm new here my name is Paul I wasn't saved until i was 35 .I lived like hell literally until then . I am 53 now married and have 2 children Will 12 and Lauren 3 .
We have battled both spiritually and physically ,cancer in my wife's body. Right now she takes an experimental treatment from Pfizer. We are blessed that they are picking up tab. I am proud to say I serve a covenant making, covenant keeping God .
I teach an adult discipleship class at church. So i went from living in the sewer to living in a mansion . I am truly a miracle that could only be by God.

In MY experience, people who are really on fire for the Lord, as she has been lately.. and who have had some growth and shaping in their life, as I KNOW we have seen here... are OFTEN put to the flame of proofing! She is heavy on my heart, and I'm glad you asked about her. She really is a lovely person! @shortgrass I miss the heat you were bringin' to this thread. So much raw emotion and truth, sharing of your own shortcomings and challenges and how you realize and work to grow past them.. really helped to shine a spot light in my own heart so that something could grow in my own dark places!

Good question. Unfortunately God also created us with free will and mankind has chosen to go so far from God. So really it's not really something a godly people would do. But He chose to let us ignore him or sin etc, it's why He sent Jesus. Also sometimes God doesn't really cause things to happen but lets them to grow. Not just with this but in life. And hopefully we will see what we're doing before it's too late for the planet. Also, again, more life than specifically this, but sometimes God lets us go through hard things to help teach us a lesson and/or strengthen us. In this case maybe the greedy business people doing this will get what's coming.

There has been some good studies go on here. And one of the discussions I have with my adult son is about cussing. He contends... who decides they are curse words.. since I do not comply with what the WORLD expects of me..

Anyways, I am a potty mouth still in recovery. And I know a few fellow BYC'ers, won't say any names, ahumm (@KDOGG331 ) who are also used to expressing themselves with these words.

The myth busters did an experiment with pain showing that using the actual fowl words were more effective at relieving the pain than a supplemental word.

Anyways, instead of researching alone.. I thought it might be a beneficial study for a few of us, to see in fact if maybe God convicts us it does NOT honor Him or ourselves (I know it doesn't) and that He also gives us the tools to grow past this thorn in my side that makes me less than who I wanna be. So that even when I'm "alone" and stub my toe, it is innocent cries of pain. Not fowl mouthed absurdities that would make a sailor blush!

So if any of you have great passages or personal growth stories/experiences to share with those of us who are still growing in this area... please, DO tell!

Yes, to a degree we are the sum of our experiences. But just because every other word out of the adult mouths in my life was the F bomb.. doesn't mean I have to drop them. After all... I'm no heroin addict like the parental units before me and my kids were NEVER in danger of becoming a part of our CORRUPT foster care system. I am NOT the mirror image of the dopers who raised me... but the reflection of my Father in heaven. I guess it's kinda like the mirror is a little high and I'm jumping to see what's looking back at me. I want to stand in the mirror and look into the eyes of my loving creator and here those words.. "well done thou good and faithful servant!"

Anyways, seems like an area some of us could use some teaching and conviction in if y'all have anything to share.
