Prayers for the Haitian people

OmGosh... I am so glad you teacher is okay.... what a nice video... what a sweet couple!!!!!

Here is the link to my group. The author Gretchen DeVoe didn't know that one of the girls passed out at the airport after 7 hours in line in 90 degree heat... That is what scored them a trip to Miami aboard a navy supply plane... All the women got home except the one on the ship offshore... She won't be home for a few days....

www.lifeline.org go to current new and then to Haiti... on the page with flags... Our group was the only ppl with a satelite uplink in that whole town..... which sat nearly on the fault... Grand Goave

Woke up this morning thinking about and praying for the children of Haiti. I read yesterday that there are now over 1 MILLION orphans there! ONE MILLION, my gosh!

And I think of and pray for the survivors -- what they face around them as they wait for aid -- the agony of it all.

That is just so heartbreaking isn't it?

I also woke up feeling like I've been reading about and watching (on TV and the internet) a military invastion instead of a natural disaster for some reason. Just have a bad feeling about the whole thing, you know?

Anyway, this is actually my first posting to BYC. Just spent the last half hour looking at all the "mugs" on the pictures thread -- Hi to everyone and am sending up prayers with you for the traumatized children and all of Haiti.

As of yesterday... an estimated 200,000 dead, 250,000 injured and 1.5 million homeless

I pray the Haitian people recover from this... as a people and as a nation.

I pray they move forward in this century and their nation can becomes a viable one!

Disasters of magnitute happen all the time--------what becomes of this will be interesting as them as a nation.

The part that really "gets" to me is the Hope that rises from those ashes... Amid the rubble and loss of life and extreme tragedy that is incomprehensable is ppl singing and giving praise to God. That really gets me... and the women in extreme agony over the loss of their children.

I know they are bring down supplies from McGuire AFB and bring people back with them. In PA there is a makeshift court set up in the hospital so people can come in to adopt the orphans that have brought there. There are doctors in the town next to me collecting all kinds of supplies and equipment they are preparing to take down to Haiti to do what they can with a group of 11 doctors. What a nightmare for these people. How awful to have yet another quake on top of the devestation they already have. These people are continuously in my prayers.
