Prayers needed for Gloria.

I'm so glad Gloria's doing better! I will still pray for her.

How did she get injured in the first place?

That's wonderful news! You must miss your flock

Can you send your petsitter my way?! Lol We are going away for a week in October, and it will be the first time being away from my flock for more than a night :S I'm nervous!!

Hahaha! My petsitter is actually my relative... he is still here and I showed him what you said and he said (jokingly) "Yeeeah! Sure.... I have a few small requirements.... a plane trip up to canada to get there and to have his own bedroom." He is very good, letting them out to free range all day (staying out most the time), feeding them vegtables and all that good stuff, and of course he can take care of any medical problems like he did with Gloria. :D

How did she get injured in the first place?

We THINK she got stepped on by a horse's hoof and a good portion of her leg got scraped off, therefore a BIG scab formed and has been there ever since cuz it hardened on. You can never know the whole story with rescued animals, unforntunately.

I got home to my flock today and was so happy to see them all again. Everyone was happy and healthy, thanks to my petsitters!
Gloria's leg is healing over, but because she is still pecking at it a little, its bleeding in one spot, as you can see in the pic. The scab is all gone, and if it does come back, i won't hesitate to scrap whatever grows off. I put some more neosporin on it tonite for it to heal. She's still limping pretty bad, but I would be too after all she's been through.

The whole flock went out freeranging after I got home :)

I would put some Blu-Kote on it. This will help disguise it plus aid with the healing process.Just be careful & don't get it on you. Great stuff!
