Please pray for our neighbors daughter Michelle which is only 19. I am not going to go into much detail but I have a link for you to read (if you'd like) about what she has been diagnosed with which is Guillain-Barre' Syndrome , it is a disease that attacks your nervous system. She is also and has been a Diabetic for most of her life and she really needs all the prayers that she can get right now. This Syndrome.... My girls want to go and see her but we have to wait until she is moved from the ICU to another room. Her sister is taking this extremely hard because she is pregnant and can't go and visit her. Her Mom is at her bedside 24/7 and she could use some prayers also. Michelle's Dad does down on Saturdays and relieves Mom for a while. Please pray for a cure for this Syndrome as there isn't one at the moment. We all live in Virginia and she is in Charlotte, NC. Thanks and God Bless.

Here is some info on Michelles condition starting with Monday May 17th

Monday 5-17---- Michelle update: Promised you guys an update and luckily we haven't had too much of a set back today. At least not in the large scope of things. Michelle isn't eating or drinking anymore so they put a NG tube in. Michelle actually asked for them to do it because she felt like she needed it. Mark said she's a trooper an...d handling it very well.

Thanks for all the support, good thoughts and prayers.
Monday they put Michelle on a ventilator and feeding tube.

Tuesday 5-18---- she pulled it out and had to do it all over again.

Wednesday 5-19--- the lung doc decided to remove the vent to see if she could breathe on her own but that didn't work so well and she had to get put back on the vent.
In three days she's been intibated 3 times,... extibated 2 times, and had 2 feeding tube placements!

Thurs. 5-20--- Thursday was declared by the lung doctor as a "day of rest" but Michelle didn't get much rest. Her heart rate keeps increasing and her BP goes up too high. The only thing that brings it back down is meds that knock her out.
The day of rest was spent doing heart tests, figuring out which meds knock her out the best, and disrupting her quiet time every few minutes for respiratory treatments, blood sugar checks, giving meds, routine care, and figuring out which of the 7 machines was alarming this time. So much for rest...

Friday 5-21--- Echocardiogram (heart test) came back good so we're still touch and go on the heart rate. Heart rate should be 80-120 and Michelle's is 140-160. They are monitoring her closely. Lung doc just came in to say Michelle has pneumonia in her left lung and we're going to start antibiotics now. They are giving meds for the cough that is like an upper body shaking with no sound since the vent takes her voice. She coughs and the heart rate goes up. Maybe the antibiotics will help get the heart rate down if we can clear the lungs.

Michelle has a long road ahead of her.....please keep prayers going up to heaven.
