Preppers were right! No toilet paper in the stores due to Coronavirus scare.

It’s been insane over here, my Dad overheard at Costco an employee talking saying that they’d gotten a load of bottled water and by 3pm it was completely gone. He can’t find paper towels anywhere, so we haven’t been using them at all. He bought a ton of toilet paper, bread, and other frozen foods. I’ve had a strange obsession with Cheerios lately and he had bought another box, but last night I noticed it was hidden... no doubt from me! my mom has been sick lately and can only eat a few foods without pain (she is getting better) so my dad has been really stressed trying to stock up on those things.

You might want to stock up on whatever poultry feed that you will be needing if you have a place to store it properly also, since so many places are shutting down now because of this scare.

I have a good 2-3 months of commercial layer feed in storage (bought when on sale). The grass will be growing by then and, at worse, the chickens could free range for a lot of their food. I'm not very concerned about shortages of chicken feed, but if stores shut down, that might be a consideration in the future.

Well order a bidet attachment from Amazon and pretend your french. I don't get the TP either, but even crazier here, people are buying bottled water. Somehow if you get the coronovirus it magically turns off the water to your house.

Yup cleaning supplies, bottled water, and TP.
It is like a test before the zombies come!

Which reminds me I should pick up some twinkies.......

Panicker: Someone who sees a scare, and goes nuts buying toilet paper.

It's the panic that's causing people to act like this. No one needs 400 rolls of toilet paper. But for whatever stupid reason, people have decided that toilet paper is the solution to everything right now. Maybe they're building a fort of toilet paper or shooting rolls of it at zombies, I don't know...

Meanwhile there's no soap shortage, and soap is far more useful right now.

Why tp though? How is this related to illness? Hand sanitizer, I get. Tp, I don't, unless you were using it to wipe hands or afraid of store closures.

I have no idea why toilet paper has a run it, vis-à-vis this Coronavirus scare. It is what it is and I'm just rambling about the situation in our town. Hand sanitizer was gone some time last week. Dear Wife wanted me to buy anti-bacterial soap, but how is that going to effectively combat a virus? Anyway, lots of people now concerned.

It’s the same here in England. All the supermarkets are sold out of toilet paper, hand wash, bleach/cleaning products, hand sanitiser, pasta, tea bags, tinned foods. We haven’t stocked up but my parents are going to because you can’t even just buy for necessity, we needed TP and had to travel to the town over. People are just getting greedy. Those who can’t afford to stock up won’t have anything come next week.

It’s not airborne, it’s that it spreads through bodily fluids so droplets from coughing and sneezing can be breathed in or wiped on your face. That’s why you should cough into a tissue, not your bare hand.
if someone sneezes on you and you inhale it that would be airborne
