Privileged parking for fuel-efficient cars?

early 1980s Atari cost $125 an the games were about $20

Late 1980s Nintendo cost $199 an games were about $30

90s PS1 cost $299 an games were about $50

Now the Xbox720 has an expected release price of over $400 an games could push $100...

So you should just buy a used Atari and save money be the same as a Xbox720 right ?

Though I drive a hybrid I think it is way wrong.Front spots should be for handicap, elderly, and preggo moms. I want a diesel and to use bio fuel! Hybrids might use less gas,but they still use gas so it is not solving the problem of weaning us off oil.....just dragging out the harsh end.

$10,000 rebate? Wish we were offered that! We paid for our cars and not a penny came from tax payers. We are a working poor family. To much to qualify for any help, and to poor to pay for most things we need.We pay our bills and we never once bailed via bankruptcy.Car payments were anywhere from $178 to $330 a month. We paid extra and paid off early.Never kept a hybrid long enough to need a new battery. I supsect we won't with the current one either. I am hoping for a diesel next time.Lol,will the government come raiding me if I am cooking up some bio fuel in my garage????

I have found our hybrids go 44-53 mpg.A good diesel will do that too. I think diesels and biofuel from algea or used cooking oil are the future not hybrids or all electric cars. These cars are just a postponement of our need to wean off oil.If electric is not via solar, wind,or water generation then it is not good.Shale mining and natural gas are not the answer either though companies are ruinning the land for it right now!

Darn EPA regulations run up the cost of diesel vehicles.Dh does complain about his bio fuel in the semi. They run on a mix of bio and traditional oil diesel.

I can remember having a *video* game for the tv that was a line on either side and a dot bounced back and forth.Lol, I tease the kids about getting them that. I think games now are awesome.Don't like the cost, but better than that line and dot.Though I do wish we still had the console for a good laugh.

On DD preppers a guy had a military truck that ran on USED motor oil.

A few left out facts about biofuel.

I currently have a stewardship contract with the government that requires I utilize the biomass. The cost of hauling the biomass to the plant (about 90 miles) costs more than what is paid for it when it gets there in part because diesel is over 4.00 gallon and the BCAP funding from Uncle Sam is gone.

well after reading most of this who gets to judge?
the way I see it the people who condemn the good cars now for hybrids and things that are trumped up by magazines and government will be doing the judging? who would be the enforcement? the people who made the parking spaces? sounds like a good way to get in a fight in the parking lot arguing over who's car gets better mileage. very stupid idea.

That game is called Pong http://www.pcgaming.ws/viewgame.php?game=pong

No the fed wont raid you over fuel. At least I dont know of it ever happening. The DOT on the other hand can a do stop people an dip there fuel tanks to make sure they payed there fuel tax. In Alabama they are known for setting up checkpoints at the exit of livestock auctions. They are also known for dipping tanks in the parking lot without the owner being around. Now if caught running an alternate fuel they may come to your home an fine you for every gallon they can find there. I have only heard of one person being checked at home. A man in SC was in the field cutting hay an the DOT was driving by an saw him, the tractor an his diesel truck in the field. DOT pulled in a dipped the tank on the truck, found black diesel an charged him with state an federal tax evasion.

Almost all diesels will run of used motor oil an usually run better than on road fuel. Google WMO or black diesel. Generally anything that is flammable, is not to acidic an melts O-rings, is thin enough to go threw the pump an will lubricate the internals of the pump can be ran as a fuel in almost all diesels. Motor oil, heated cooking oil, Kerosene, melted fat, melted wax, transformer oil.

New xbox and play station I expect games to be 69.99. ps2 was 49.99 and ps3 is now 59.99. Atari is no where near close to the xbox and playstation. You can get insane 1080p on xbox while you get blocks on atari

My Mustang GT gets 36MPG @ 55MPH. No privileged parking. That's better than my Mom's Honda Accord. :(

The 2011 Ford Mustang, which made history when it became the first car ever to deliver more than 30 mpg and 305 horsepower, has set a new record by running 1,457 laps at Bristol Motor Speedway while averaging 48.5 mpg. The Mustang 1,000 Lap Challenge was designed to demonstrate that a stock production Mustang V-6 could run 1,000 laps and 533 miles on a single of tank of fuel. With the aid of fuel efficient driving techniques by Ford engineers, the Mustang far surpassed its goal of 1,000 laps.

48.5 MPG (V6, not the 420hp GT). Same as the Prius. Except it looks cool and has 305hp. Toyota. Letting us down. Also (according to Consumer Reports) The Mustang GT is far more reliable than the Prius).
