Hi my 1 year old chicken had a prolapse today. I've managed to push most of it back in but her vent contracts too much to get the remainder in. She's also still bleeding and passed what looks like tissue during the initial prolapse (I found it in her nesting box? Can anyone give me some advice or have any ideas what the bloody red ball that came away when she prolapsed is?

Here is my article to instruct you on the care and treatment of prolapse. https://www.backyardchickens.com/ar...ng-from-vent-prolapse-oh-my-what-to-do.76124/

Yes, you need to cut into the red ball that she expelled. Photograph it with a ruler for scale so we can tell size, and verbally describe, including smell, it in addition to the photo. That can help is fill in the third dimension that a photo doesn't convey.
