To friends who enjoy a glass of wine... and those who don't.

As Ben Franklin said: "In wine there is wisdom, in beer there is freedom, in water there is bacteria."

In a number of very carefully controlled trials, scientists have demonstrated that if we drink 1 liter of water each day, at the end of the year we would have absorbed more than 1 kilo of Escherichia coli, (E.coli) - bacteria found in feces.

In other words, we are consuming 1 kilo of poop.

However, we do NOT run that risk when drinking wine & beer (or tequila, rum, whiskey or other liquor) because alcohol has to go through a purification process of boiling, filtering and/or fermenting

Remember:

Water = Poop

Wine = Health

Therefore, it's better to drink wine and talk stupid, than to drink water and be full of crap.

There is no need to thank me for this valuable information. I'm doing it as a public service.

Cheers to all you BYCers. May the New Year be the best yet.

Sort of simi quoting Cliff Claven.....

Drinking makes you smarter...Here's how.
Just like when the times when Buffalo roamed the midwest....
Wolves would stalk and kill the weak, sick and injured buffalo therefore making the herd stronger as a whole.

Drinking alcohol kills the slow and weak brain cells, So... drinking makes you smarter!

Just ask anyone when I go to the bar on friday, they'll tell you when I'm drunk I know everything!

What is fundamentally FLAWED with this line of THINKING? For one thing,why does it seem to appear,that most people,trust scientists,unconditionally and without question as to whom they're loyal to and what they're credentials are;including their current projects and employment? Scientists are trained in the art of CONJECTURE to arrive upon a THEORY to explain a phenomena that had occurred,is occurring right now or may occur some time in the future. All of this: controlled trials,studies,tests,and projects, involves money,of which,is passed to the consumer or the American taxpayer.

In the end,all of the theories & conjectures;studies & trials and whatever the scientists spend money on ... is passed to ENGINEERS to MAKE it all to WORK out. Engineers create the "state of the art" technology. A century ago,scientists theorized that someday a man might walk on the moon. Nearly 70 years later, engineers made it a reality. Scientists are theorizing presently,that humankind will walk on Mars.

However, we do NOT run that risk when drinking wine & beer (or tequila, rum, whiskey or other liquor) because alcohol has to go through a purification process of boiling, filtering and/or fermenting

Your assertion that,wine and beer,contain no E. coli,is fundamentally misleading. This is due to the fact that wine and beer are fermented beverages that converted sugars into alcohol,but aren't necessarily purified,on any account. Distilled beverages are not necessarily "purified" either. The alcohol (ethanol) that is organically synthesized through the "sour mash" fermentation process,is heated to 172 deg F,in order for the ethanol to vaporize from the mash leaving the water behind. After this vapor is allowed to cool,this distillate is usually 80-99% pure ethanol,dependent on the efficiency of the distillation process. Sometimes,this distillate,is run through a second distillation process,to further concentrate the ethanol and or,as in the case of vodka,eliminate any impurities that affect flavor. Up to this point,the ethanol is sterile and virtually germ free. It's the next steps in the process that contribute to the impurities that are found in distilled spirits. Ethanol that is 95%+ is rather nasty stuff to drink let alone to be sociable afterwards. So the liquor companies dilute the juice with whatever water is available...city tap water? sure and it's cheap and plentiful <poop> Jack Daniels takes extreme pride in the fact,that they use "iron-free" spring water from the Smoky Mountains;nice marketing scam deserves a <mongo poop> or most of the vodka producers tout pure filtered water...so what? water at 65 PSI pushed through a 6 inch diameter pipe; water system,utilizing a 3-stage panary mesh filtration system using NSF and USDA standards of 10 micron,5 micron and 1 micron,has a flow rate of 16.44 GPM. This rather poor slow,by industry requirements,to meet consumer demand for product. Besides this. E.coli bacterium needs a 0.1 Micron filter,which would restrict water flow by 90% of the aforementioned system.

How much poop is in the alcohol that you alkies partake of? As an engineer and a mathematician,I could design some calibration and testing equipment,plus a software algorithm to monitor future test results. But as a businessman,it will cost you.<BIG CACA>

Since I drink 2.5 gallons or water per day...and the fact that I've been accused many times by many people for many years,that I am a complete and/ or functioning A@@hole,mostly because I think it's because since I have a mustache;I have hair around both holes,also I have been sober for 33 years+,and I love to mess up those stupid drunks heads, especially at parties- with New Year's Being the best party to so and Christmas running a close second;relatives are worth extra points;my bowels move with extreme regularity<healthy poop> My mantra is GIGO!

All y'all take care!

Hahaha, that is hilarious. I'd like references for this set of science papers. LOL. Since when was bacteria poo? You do know that without bacteria in your intestines, you cannot digest your food as well as you do now right?

Our bodies team with bacteria, 99.9% good as they do not harm us and take up space that would otherwise be colonized by the ones that do make us sick. Antibacterial soap and over use of antibiotics just makes things worse.

As for scientists, it's not them that make all the baloney, it's the media that grab a piece of a whole project and blow it up to some huge ordeal... that the science wasn't even asking.

Carugoman's humor is in tact...you...ummmm...just have to dig through all that bacteria! (You really drink that much water a day??)
