Rusty has been more relaxed during Puff Daddy's incarceration. He doesn't have to nervously move around the edge of the flock now. He can walk through the middle of the flock scratching and pecking. Now he is not a perfect angel either. I have seen him grab a pullet by the nape of the neck and try to get her to squat, but never trap her and brutalize her.
Georgie, my sweet SLW roo will occasionally run him off a few feet but he has not very aggressive about it. Georgie barely pays attention to the girls. He jumps on my knee and lets me pet him.
My DW has prevailed and Puff daddy is out on parole. He is usually OK but he wakes up with an ... attitude, and so whnen I let them out for the day it helps to either supervise for a short while, or let him out of the run while the rest remain in the run for breakfast.
He has some good qualities, for instance he is not a pig about treats. If I throw him a berry he starts picking it up and dropping it, clucking all the while. Of course this behaviour invariably draws a few pullets who dash in to grab the treats.
