Pullet or Cockerel? Ameraucana.....It's official/Got a new name :)

Hatched him out myself, so he was hatched on April 24th. Two days after my mom died.

Little sucker, no wonder no matter how hard we tried to cuddle him he just wouldn't be happy.

I think maybe he's been a little mad all along since we treated him like a sissy.

I thought about Barney and I could start naming eveyone after the Flintstones. I just hate that big purple dinosaur that I wish was extinct and would disappear from TV. Why did they have to name him Barney too? He could have been Barney Fife too, but nooooo.........Back to that aweful purple thing again.

I think now that the stigma is over for him he might butch out more quickly. LOL

I did say pullet so I lose. Seriously though, what a late bloomer!! At six months mine were having crowing competitions and schmoozing the ladies. Good luck finding some pullets.

I'm so with you there! But perhaps he can be the antidote - he'll be big and sexy and beautiful, and all the ladies will love him - he'll be the opposite of the stupid doofy purple thing. Bringing balance back to the universe!

Yeah that could be cool.

My cat growing up was named Barney...way before the lame dino cursed us w/ his existence. My cat was such a sweet boy and lived to be 18. You could call him Barn for short and that is a farmy kind of name. I think I will name my suspected roo Rastus.

Another update for Bonnie

He has become my coolest crower.

He is becoming my Alpha roo among the juveniles.

The ladies love him.

He's the night guard around here and if something is out there he lets you know it.

He's become even friendlier since the name change, now that he knows I know.

He cute, he's pretty and he has a wonderful singing voice.

Now he's BON JOVI! LOL

What a cool name! I love it!

My roo was supervising laying this morning. Guess he doesn't know that a watched pot never boils.
